Eden Medical Center Welcomes New CEO Terry Glubka

Terry GlubkaSutter Health is pleased to announce that today, Terry Glubka, R.N., MBA, became the new CEO of Eden Medical Center. Terry is the eighth CEO, and the first woman to hold the post, in Eden’s 60-year history.

Eden Medical Center is an award-winning, 130-bed hospital and trauma center that treats 37,000 emergency room and 1,300 trauma patients a year in a brand new hospital setting. It is one of the largest employers in central Alameda County, with more than 1,100 employees.

“I look forward to building on Eden’s rich history in the community and its many successes and programs. I have great passion for providing the best patient/family experience, the best quality and the most affordable healthcare in the community,” said Glubka.

“I cannot imagine a better person to lead Eden Medical Center at this time,” said David Bradley, Regional President of Sutter Health in the East Bay. “Terry has a proven track record of physician recruitment and retention, specialty service line development and improved health care access for the community.”

With more than more than 30 years of health care experience, Terry is a trained clinician and a thoughtful leader committed to preserving the community’s access to quality care. In her previous position as CEO of Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo, Terry oversaw major capital projects, including construction of a $24.5 million, 60,000-square-foot cancer center and medical office building, and renovation projects in Diagnostic Imaging Services, the Emergency Department, Outpatient Ambulatory Services and Endoscopy Services.

The physicians and staff of Eden Medical Center welcome Terry and look forward to working under her leadership to continue to serve the health care needs of the community.

George Bischalaney, who has been Eden’s CEO since 1998, will be retiring. Bischalaney’s leadership was instrumental in the building of the new Eden Medical Center, which opened in December 2012.
